Synlait Milk
In 43rd place is Synlait Milk, a New Zealand dairy ingredients company based just out of Christchurch. They process more than 500 million litres of milk each year into a variety of milk powder products and high-value functional ingredients for export to the world’s leading food manufacturers. In 2011 the company expanded its specialised milk powder production facilities with a new state-of-the-art formulated milk processing plant. CEO John Penno shares a secret or two of their success - focus on quality, be the best in the world not just New Zealand and demand a premium - perhaps that is why they feature on the Index for the fourth year in a row with growth of 165.45%.
